There are many ways in which you can partner with Shiloh's Edge to grow this program and allow God to continue a miraculous work in the Capital District. First, and most importantly, we need prayer partners who will pray for the needs, the safety and the effectiveness of this program.
Logistics - We would ask that you pray for Steve and Adam as they plan the extended trips. There are hundreds of logistical puzzle pieces which need to fit into place before the first student can be enrolled. Pray that the Lord opens doors and points this program in the direction that He would have it go.
Safety - Because of the nature of these expeditions, there is always a risk factor involved. Please pray that the Lord would keep all students and staff under His wing of protection while embarking on these adventures.
Effectiveness - We ask that you pray that the Lord continues to use this program as an effective tool for reaching youths with the message of salvation and strengthening the walk of those who have already begun the wonderful journey with Christ.
Fundraising - Pray that the Lord brings in financial partners to help Steve and Adam reach their fund raising goals.

Steve and Adam - Because this is a non-profit organization, Steve and Adam also need financial partners who will commit to monthly donations to the program. Each member of the YFC staff is responsible for raising the funds for their program and for their continuance in full time ministry. Steve and Adam each have separate accounts to fund raise for, based on their experience and need. So if the Lord has blessed you and you are willing to take a step out in faith for Him, consider a monthly commitment to Shiloh's Edge.
Equipment Fund - You may also have a certain passion for donating directly into the Shiloh's Edge equipment fund. Up-to-date equipment allows students to experience the outdoors in a much safer and enjoyable manner. Shiloh's Edge has a number of equipment needs as we look to expand the program. Helping us update our equipment can come in the form of traditional monetary donations or by donating the needed piece of equipment. Contact Steve Prettyman for suggestions on ways that you could meet a specific program need. Tax receipts can be awarded for "gifts-in-kind".
- The trip scholarship fund gives those students who may not be able to cover the cost of their trip a chance to experience a Shiloh's Edge trip as well as the blessing of your generosity. Shiloh's Edge trips are consistently under-pricing the competition because of the fact that we do not look to make a profit from the trips. However, there is quite often a rental fee to cover and/or a travel expense involved. These can elevate the cost of the trip rather quickly and your help with the scholarship fund would allow those in need a chance to participate.
Please accept my commitment of $25, $50, $100, $250, $500, $_______other per month.
Please accept this one time donation of $100, $250, $500, $_______other per month.
Checks may be made payable to Youth For Christ. You may specify if this should go to Steve's account or Adam's.
Naomi Talbott Memorial Fund
A memorial fund has been created in memory of Naomi Grace Talbott through a Youth for Christ chapter in upstate New York, where her granddaughter Kimberly and her husband Steve are involved in ministering to high school students. This memorial fund will go towards student scholarships and camping equipment, both are vital to the ongoing work of Shiloh’s Edge, a wilderness based ministry that shares the message of Jesus Christ with young people.
Gifts may be made out to Youth for Christ with “Naomi Talbott Memorial Fund” written in the memo area of your check.

Each summer, Shiloh's Edge takes on interns to help out with the busy season. Typically these individuals are between their freshman and senior years of college. Interns work under the Capital District Youth for Christ summer internship format. Each intern is responsible to raise his or her funds and can receive a stipend of up to $3,500 for the summer.
If you are interested in an internship, contact us at 518-783-5332
Past Interns
Steph joined Shiloh's Edge between her junior and senior years at Nyack College in New York. She spent time as a missionary in Indonesia with EduVenture. And most recently has guided with Reachout Expeditions in Washington.

Adam interned for two consecutive years as he finished up his education at Colby-Sawyer College in New Hampshire. He worked a year in the Dartmouth College Sports Publicity department before returned to Shiloh's Edge in June of 2000 as a full-time employee. He is now married and lives in Troy, works part-time with Shiloh's Edge and also spends a few days a week at home with his daughter.
Becky came all the way from Wisconsin to spend the summer between her junior and senior years at Wisconsin-LaCrosse.She worked for quite some time at her family's Fort Wilderness Christian Camp. She has now taken the plunge into her own full-time photography business in Wisconsin.

Like Adam, Brian interned for two consecutive years, first in suburban ministry and then with Shiloh's Edge. Brian completed a NOLS semester in Patagonia, Chile in the fall of 2000. He has graduated from Taylor University in Indiana and is working at roasting his own coffee beans.

A native of the Capital District, Kristen dedicated the summer between her junior and senior year to ministry with Shiloh's Edge in its inaugural Gale Force summer. Kristen graduated from Asbury College in Kentucky and is now married and teaching in the public school setting.

Beginning her involvement as a student on a New Hampshire backpacking trip, Becca has come up from Virginia a few times to participate in the Shiloh's Edge experience. She came to Alaska with us as both a student in 2001 and as an intern in 2002. She has graduated from James Madison University and works as a counselor for an outdoor program in the Adirondacks.

As a referral from a former Shiloh's Edge student, Jim traveled over from Williams College in Massachusetts, where he leads the campus Christian club. He is a native of Atlanta, Georgia and has an identical twin brother. He is now working with Intervarsity ministering to three colleges in Connecticut.
After joining Shiloh's Edge as a student on two Joshua Tree climbing trips and the Alaska sea-kayaking trip, Emily jumped on board as an intern after her first year of college. A surfer from Santa Cruz, California, she is the cousin of full-time staffer, Adam, and has recently served on a missions trip in Africa. She is now pursuing full-time missions work.

Philip first hooked up with Shiloh's Edge on the inaugural sea-kayaking trip to Alaska in 2001. He joined us as an intern after his freshman year at Baylor University in Waco, TX. Originally from Colorado Springs, Philip taught the Shiloh's Edge staff a thing or two about mountain biking, mainly about repairing the bike every night and doing lots of wheelies to test out your repair.
Sean is a Capital District native and very familiar with the Campus Life and Shiloh's Edge programs. He was a member of the 2003 Joshua Tree climbing team and involved many years with the Niskayuna Campus Life program (mainly the destruction and renovation of Samuel's coffeehouse). Sean is a student at Taylor University and the brother of 2000 intern Brian Moriarty. He spent a summer on a missions trip in Africa and also did a short-term missions trip to Austria.

Sara joined Shiloh's Edge as a referral from CDYFC staffer Kevin Post. Kevin was Sara's leader for many years in the Averill Park Campus Life ministry. She is a graduate of Gordon College with a youth ministry major and an outdoor education minor. She has spent a month sea-kayaking and backpacking in Baja California and two weeks in South Africa on a missions trip which built a challenge course for kids. Sara has now taken a position in New Zealand working with college students who have taken the semester abroad to learn about God's beautiful Creation.
